Verb Ballets is excited to offer the Three Ladies of Dance Masterclass Workshop on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Verb Ballets Studio in Shaker Heights. Classes will be taught by esteemed dance professionals Roni Mahler, Laura Alonso, and Aseelah Shareef. This program includes classes in ballet, classical variations and Horton based modern dance. These classes are recommended for all students ages 12+ and are open to all dancers who would like to attend from local studios, colleges or the community. Verb Ballets heads to Cuba

Verb Ballets is honored to be a participant in The Cleveland Foundation's Creative Fusion: Cuba Edition. Dr. Margaret Carlson, Producing Artistic Director, Richard Dickinson MFA, Associate Director, and Dianne McIntrye, master choreographer, will in Cuba from January 7-14, 2017. Together they will travel with The Cleveland Foundation to participate in historic arts and community engagement projects through the Creative Fusion international artist residency program. Creative Fuion: Cuba Edition

The Cleveland Foundation’s Creative Fusion international artist residency program will bring a group of Cuban artists to Cleveland this spring for a cultural exchange with local artists and the Greater Cleveland community. The multidisciplinary cohort includes internationally celebrated artists showcasing the best in architecture, design, printmaking, photography/mixed media, the written word, ballet and modern dance. Verb Ballets' receives an National Endowment For the Arts Challenge Grant

Verb Ballets received a Challenge America grant from The National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) to extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations-those whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics, or disability. The grant will support a memory and dance project at assisted living facilities in Cleveland. Verb Ballets' Producing Artistic Director, Dr. Margaret Carlson, is attending the Vice-Chancellor's Reception with Sir Kim Darroch, British Ambassador to the United States, in Washington DC on December 7, 2016. Carlson received her doctorate from Durham University in the United Kingdom. It is with tremendous honor that Carlson will be representing Verb Ballets as an alumni at this event. Verb Ballets 2016–17 Season Kicks off 30th Anniversary Company Celebration

Verb Ballets, under the direction of Dr. Margaret Carlson, Producing Artistic Director, and Richard Dickinson, MFA, Associate Director, presents dynamic programming for the 2016–17 season through bold artistry, unique style, and technical excellence. Verb Ballets begins its 30th Anniversary Celebration in 2017. The company has an exciting line-up of main-stage performances throughout Northeast Ohio and continues the Ballet Up-Close in-studio series to engage audiences in the creative process. For the second year, Ohio Dance Theatre in collaboration with Verb Ballets presents The Nutcracker at Stocker Auditorium, Lorain, Ohio. Verb Ballets continues the legacy of Heinz Poll with Work Reimagined at the Akron Civic Theatre, featuring new ballets inspired by Poll’s choreography as well as restagings of his classic works. The company begins its 30th Anniversary Celebration, which will continue through 2017, with a performance at the Breen Center, highlighting audience favorites and premieres. In April, the company tours to Taiwan for the Mix + Multi Arts Festival. The season culminates May 11–13 when the company teams up with the Taiwanese company Expression Dance Theater (Body EDT) for a shared program at Cleveland Public Theatre. Adult community dancers share their love of dance with seniors

A group compromised of nine adults over age forty have rekindled an appreciation of dance and want to share their love of movement with local seniors. The AdVerb Project, a community extension of Verb Ballets, is a group comprised of local adults taking ballet classes at the Verb Ballets studio in Shaker Heights. The AdVerb Project developed out of adult learners looking to experience what it is like to be a professional dancer and to learn to perform. In an effort to give back to the community The AdVerb Project will be performing for seniors at local nursing homes over the next five weeks. Moving Connections, a wellness program of Verb Ballets, is a movement workshop designed for the senior community to encourage creativity, engage social interaction and deepen an appreciation of the arts through the joy of movement. In partnership with Jewish Family Services the movement program will go into two different senior living facilities including Portage Lakes / Kiwanis Towers and Center Towers on the Schultz Campus for Jewish Life. In addition, Verb Ballets will come in to Portage Lakes / Kiwanis Towers and perform for the seniors on Thursday, May 13th. Verb Ballets and the Akron Art Museum are Proud to Present a New Wellness Program for Seniors

AKRON, OH - Moving Connections, a wellness program of Verb Ballets, is a movement workshop designed for the senior community to encourage creativity, engage social interaction and deepen an appreciation of the arts through the joy of movement. In partnership with The Akron Art Museum the program will be hosted in different galleries, giving participants a chance to take in the collection of the museum. In addition, museum has arranged an education component to provide a brief gallery talk on the art. Verb Ballets Brings Joy of Movement to Welcome Nursing Home

Verb Ballets has been providing the Moving Connections program for over 10 years, and recently received a grant from the Ohio Arts Council Creative Aging Ohio Initiative to expand the program into a tri county area in Northeast Ohio. Verb Ballets fulfills wish of 5 year old heart transplant recipient to become a ballerina in production of Peter Pan

Verb Ballets and A Special Wish Foundation Cleveland Chapter (ASW) are working together to make Hope’s dream of becoming a ballerina come true. Hope was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and received a heart transplant at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital. After a long recovery she is doing amazingly. Verb Ballets uses kinesthetic learning to teach literacy

Verb Ballets has partnered with Onaway Elementary School in Shaker Heights for a “Literacy Through Dance”, a dance and movement education residency program for all pre-kindergarten through first grade students.
