Verb Ballets launches its year long 30th Anniversary celebration! Over the years the company’s style has evolved and garnished praise and enthusiasm from audiences and critics alike. This extraordinary evening of programming on March 25th showcases a rich and powerful assortment of works within the Verb Ballets repertoire along with exciting new premieres. Featured will be the new ballet, Appropriated Memories, by Anthony Krutzkamp that melds classical form with innovation to create fresh contemporary movement. Verb Ballets Continues the Legacy of Heinz Poll 

Verb Ballets continues the legacy of Heinz Poll, founder of Ohio Ballet, at the Akron Civic Theatre on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 8:00pm. Verb Ballets will showcase new ballets inspired by Poll’s choreography with a company premiere by former principal with Ohio Ballet, Andrew Carroll and Verb Ballets' dancer, Michael Hinton. Verb Ballets heads to Cuba

Verb Ballets is honored to be a participant in The Cleveland Foundation's Creative Fusion: Cuba Edition. Dr. Margaret Carlson, Producing Artistic Director, Richard Dickinson MFA, Associate Director, and Dianne McIntrye, master choreographer, will in Cuba from January 7-14, 2017. Together they will travel with The Cleveland Foundation to participate in historic arts and community engagement projects through the Creative Fusion international artist residency program. Creative Fuion: Cuba Edition

The Cleveland Foundation’s Creative Fusion international artist residency program will bring a group of Cuban artists to Cleveland this spring for a cultural exchange with local artists and the Greater Cleveland community. The multidisciplinary cohort includes internationally celebrated artists showcasing the best in architecture, design, printmaking, photography/mixed media, the written word, ballet and modern dance. Verb Ballets will bring artist Laura Alonso, daughter of world famous Cuban ballerina Alicia Alonso to Cleveland for a residency in February and March 2017. Read More...

Choreography Intensive Aimed to Inspire Professional Dancers  

Maurya Kerr, San Francisco-based choreographer, educator and former dancer with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, will start the new year with Verb Ballets in the continuation of the Choreography Intensive. Funded through the generosity of the Ohio Arts Council, Verb Ballets will host nationally recognized artists to teach workshops in choreography, dance and technology. The Choreography Intensive is an initiative inspiring professional dancers to consider extending their careers through choreography. These professional development workshops are designed to further their education in the field of choreography.

Verb Ballets enters into the company's 30th Anniversary Season and will build on its mission of artistic excellence and exemplary community engagement with the Choreography Intensive Project. Verb Ballets Hosts Choreographer Anthony Krutzkamp

Verb Ballets is proud to welcome choreographer Anthony Krutzkamp back to the studio the week of September 19-23, 2016.  Krutzkamp danced as a principal dancer with Cincinnati Ballet and Kansas City Ballet and is now the co-artistic director of Kansas City Dance Festival and Second Company Manger for Kansas City Ballet. Verb Ballets Hosts New York Choreographer Roger C. Jeffrey 

Verb Ballets is proud to welcome New York based choreographer Roger C. Jeffrey in studio the week of July 5-9, 2016 to create a new work on the company. Jeffrey has performed with Bernice Johnson, Twyla Tharp, Lar Lubovitch, and with Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project, among others. Jeffrey is a graduate of Juilliard that has danced and choreographed nationally and internationally. Off the plane from San Francisco: Verb Ballets Hosts Choreographer Charles Anderson

Verb Ballets is proud to welcome national choreographer Charles Anderson in studio the week of June 27-July 1, 2016. Anderson is a former member of New York City Ballet and has become one of the leading forces of the San Francisco Bay Area contemporary dance movement. Anderson began choreographing ballets while still a dancer with the New York City Ballet, and he co-founded and acted as artistic director for Ballet, Inc. in New York, where he choreographed many of his early works. He later founded Company C Contemporary Ballet in 2002, where he currently serves as Artistic Director in San Francisco. Read More...
