Verb Ballets in New York City

Verb Ballets debuts at The Martha Graham Studio Theatre at Westbeth in New York City on January 17, 2016 at 6:00pm. The company will be introduced by Janet Eilber, Artistic Director of the Martha Graham Dance Company. Last season The Martha Graham Dance Company selected Verb Ballets to participate in this ongoing creative project in celebration of the 85th anniversary of Martha Graham's iconic solo, Lamentation said to express the very essence of grief. Verb Ballets commissioned three distinct variations on this American masterpiece choreographed by national choreographers Antonio Brown (Bill T Jones/Arnie Zane), Chung-Fu Chang (Cloud Gate Dance Theatre) and Ginger Thatcher (Lar Lubovitch Dance Company) that first premiered in Cleveland at The Breen Center. Verb Ballets is honored to close the Lamentation Variation project by performing at The Martha Graham Studio Theatre. Also on the program will be other highlights from the season. This show is free and open to the public- no tickets are required.

This project of Verb Ballets was made possible in full by John P Murphy Foundation and Ann and Charles Ennis.
